We're just living life here: enjoying summer, trying to enjoy each other, avoiding cooking, etc.
Nothing noteworthy happened throughout most of the week. Of course, after the drama of last month, I consider that a good thing. :)
Yesterday was a yard work day. Michael lets the boys take turns on the mower with him. He has a zero-turn and there is a platform for your feet. Gideon LOVES LOVES LOOOOVES to ride on it. He actually rides till he falls asleep. It's cute.
Michael asked me to move some piles of dirt over to the side of the property. So, I spent about 2 hours doing that. Thomas wanted to help when I first started but I said no because I just wanted to HURRY. (I didn't really want to do it in the first place because I had a TON of housework to do.) After breaking up a few fights and having to discipline a few times for disobedience I realized that having him help me was going to be beneficial to BOTH of us. Usually I let him help me but...well...I don't know WHAT I was thinking yest. Anyway, I let Thomas help and of course Judah wanted to help too. So, they took turns holding the big shovel while I raked dirt into it and then I dumped it into the wheelbarrow. The boys were super excited that I let them ride in the wheelbarrow for the first time yest. Thomas even GOT OFF THE MOWER to ride in the wheelbarrow. (that's huge in case you couldn't tell from the CAPS)
I usually don't let them because it's yucky in the bottom but they were already filthy anyway so it didn't matter. Big fun! I remember when my dad let me ride when I was little. I loved it too. :)
After I finished the job, and ended up enjoying it, (I really do like manual outside labor.)I had to go inside and clean the house for 2 hours. :) Isn't this exciting reading? I'll bet y'all are just comin' out of your chairs. hehe
Today Michael took the big boys to a fishing rodeo at Vogel State Park. They didn't catch anything but Thomas won a fishing pole in the raffle. He was super excited about it. Gideon and I stayed here and cleaned the house (another 2 hours),
Silly "helper" hiding under the sheet as I try to make the bed
Rolling out from under the sheet and giggling.
Flopping down in the clean pile of sheets before I can grab the top sheet.
Very proud of himself.
I'm SOOO cute! Right Mom?
and then we went on a 3 mile walk, I showered, and after that we went and got something to eat. The rest of the day was spent chasing a very active 2 1/2 year old.
The other boys got back around 3:30pm. They were tired and irritable. Gideon fell asleep at around 6:00pm, Michael and Thomas fell asleep at 8:00pm. Judah is still up with me but he's looking VERY tired. HE should fall asleep soon. I am going to get into the tub and SOAK for awhile with a book, do my nightly stomach crunches and go to bed. Hope that everyone is having a great weekend. Blessings!- Angela :)
