Our Weekend

I am very tired but am attempting to give you something to read Monday morning. :)

It was kind of a BLAH weekend. We are attempting an obedience "boot camp" around here. It has been, interesting...

Well, technically this happened on Friday but it was still noteworthy; the boys and I did some tie dye together. heehee

Some days I DON'T know what goes through my brain. My control freakness and mess freakness must be getting better since I didn't break out into a cold sweat while we were doing them. (although I did set it up outside on the grass just in case) I still didn't let them hold the dye bottles until we were TOTALLY ready to dye them but I didn't have a panic attack as I watched either. :):)
I did Gideon's for him but Thomas and Judah dyed their own. Judah's has lots of colors but Thomas and Gideon's only have green and yellow. They had great fun and were disappointed when it was over. My heart was GRATEFUL when it was over because it could go back to beating normally. (I really am an idiot.) :)
The shirts came out great and they all wore them to church this morning.

Other than that, on Saturday we took the boys to the Home Depot Kids Workshop. They were supposed to make little Catamarans but they ran out just as we got there so the boys all made wooden toolboxes. They were more excited about those than the boats so it worked out well. Gideon even hammered some of his by himself.

After that we came back home and had lunch and rest time. After rest time the boys and I went to the store for a few groceries.
I have to say that I can be very judgemental about what I see in other people's carts. I know this is not a GOOD thing...I'm just being honest. You know, if I see a cart full of nitrite laden, partially hydrogenated, carbonated, prepackaged, processed, dyed foods...I can think things in my mind...you know...

Well I have to be honest and say that I have NEVER bought so many prepackaged frozen things at once before. (Not that I can remember anyway) I'm thinking that it MUST be the hot weather. I just don't want to cook. That's funny too because I LOVE to cook.
We had dinner and then-honestly- I have NO idea what we did last night. I was very tired. I think I just blocked out last night.

This morning was church, ate at Quincy's for lunch, naps, watching Netflix, playing outside, baths, dinner, and more Netflix. We were trying to stay cool inside. The boys and I have been enjoying the hot weather but on Sundays I just don't seem to be able to muster up enough energy to do much of anything...let alone melt in the WONDERFUL (no sarcasm) Georgia summer heat.

Tomorrow is Math and then probably outside time. And, of course, the Monday chores: dust, vacuum, laundry, clean up kitchen, etc. :)

Have a great week everyone!

Blessings!- Angela :)

I have the same issue with other's grocery carts....and we wonder why there are so many illnesses and behavior issues!?!

I didn't eat very well last week either...the heat is on now, and it just takes a little time to adjust again.

oh for a pool!

Angela,

What type of tie dye stuff did you use? A kit or...? Just wondering because I just ordered some plain white silk scarves from a cool and VERY cheap website along with some dyes for silk. These will be the girls 'dress ups' because I just don't want to go the disney or barbie girl dress up dress route. Anyway, I am thinking that dyeing some cotton things would be cool too. The website is Dharma Trading Co. They have cheap dyeble cotton clothes for kids as well : ) I might get one of their kits or maybe use what you used!

You sound like the funnest Mom ever by the way!
: )

Ashley,
We got our kit at Walmart. So, (grin) you probably won't be able to get the same kit. I'm sure there are LOTS of kits available via internet. From what I've seen the whole thing isn't rocket science. heehee
What a great idea to make playclothes. I love it!!

You could have Sienna blog about it with pics. That would be great. I SO enjoy reading her blog. I don't comment because I figured that she doesn't remember me. :)

Angela,

Sienna loves comments. If you ever want to comment, feel free. Just say you knew her from GCF
: ) She has really enjoyed having her own blog and it has been really motivating for her in terms of her home school. It is really funny because she starts getting really organized and excited when she think the reader of her blog will see her work : )

Thanks for the tie dye info. Off to look it up online!
Bye for now

Ash
