Funnies

A couple nights ago Judah was sitting on my lap and he (ahem) passed some gas. Now, I've told him before to remove himself from my lap and dispense elsewhere but sometimes I guess it's just too hard to do that. I made a small mock-disgusted comment and then told him seriously that it was poor manners to do that. He said, "But it's too hard to hold it in." I replied with something like, "you can do it." His reply was classic. Are you ready for this?

He said, "But Mom, I'm just a little kid."

I laughed and laughed.

Today Michael took Thomas to Sunday school and then to the mall with him. Judah and Gideon, who are getting over pink-eye, stayed at home with me. Judah and I hung out a lot today. I LOVE the 5 year old age. They have such interesting views on life. They are fun to talk to. :)

Anyway, every once in a while I try to probe a bit and see if any of our teaching/training is sinking in. So this afternoon, while Judah and I were stringing popcorn for the tree, I asked him what his favorite part of Christmas was. I steeled myself for the PRESENTS comment and had my little presents aren't the most important part mini lecture ready...He surprised me though. This was his answer, "Gingerbread, popcorn, candy..."

Heehee. I must say. This kid loves food almost as much as I do. LOL

This comment wasn't funny but I didn't want to blog a separate post for it so I'm tacking it on here...

The other day Thomas "bought" a New Testament Bible from the Awana store with the shares he had earned this far in the year. It is his new prized possession. He carries it around and pretends to read it throughout the day.

The other day he told me he was reading his Bible so he "wouldn't punch Judah". I laughed and told him "good job!"

At least he knows where his help lies. :)

Blessings!- Angela :)

*edited to add-
I just finished singing a lullaby Christmas medley to my drowsy children upstairs. Neither of the children fell asleep before I was done; but Michael, who was lying down with Thomas, started snoring about 1/2 way through "O Little Town of Bethlehem." heehee

Love Thomas's comments. He is so funny. He really does know where his help lies.
