It's day 13 of weaning. He still asks 2-3 times a day. However, I'm happy to report that he no longer seems as upset by it. Maybe he's holding out hope that if he keeps a good attitude he'll get what he wants. :(
In other, more comical news...
MUSINGS FROM THE ROAD:
As most of you know my dad had surgery last Thursday and I took our 6 year old up to Ohio with me to give him some moral support. Since my husband had a work conference last Wednesday we couldn’t leave till 5:00pm Wednesday night. So, we drove about 7 ½ hours that night and 5 the next morning. While I was driving in the “middle of the night” random thoughts kept coming into my head. I thought I would amuse you at a look inside my brain in the dead of night, deep in the hills of West Virginia.
Construction Is A Lot Like Labor.
First you are stuck, then you slowly crawl forward, then you sit still for awhile getting more impatient and more and more irritable. Just when you think you will never move forward, WHOOSH, it unsticks and away you go with this awesome sense of release and relief.
Think About The Name For Your Business Carefully.
For example, if you are going to open a sleazy porn store, oh excuse me the PC term is apparently “adult bookstore”; why not give it an alluring name. I mean think for just a minute…wouldn’t the name THE LION’S DEN scare off potential customers? Hopefully it does. (All kidding aside please pray for truckers who are faced with that kind of temptation regularly. Those particular kinds of “stores” or entertainment seem to pop up near or adjacent to truck stops. It’s really sad. These men are away from their loved ones for days at a time.)
What A Rush!
There is something so exhilarating and slightly suicidal about flying through the mountains of West Virginia, going 75 MPH, in the dead of night, next to exhausted truckers, in an oversized roller skate that gets 40 miles to the gallon.
I'll have more details later. The trip was a bit hard and I am still recovering from pneumonia. I was hoping to be able to do more by now. Sigh. Pray for speedy healing. My boy want me to play with them again. :)
Blessings!- Angela :)

Feel better soon, and I hope all is going well with your dad!
Glad you made it home safely! That drive is brutal. How's your dad doing?
Miss ya!
Amy
happy to hear that you are safe and sound back at home. love your musings...the things that go through our minds when we are away from it all.
I love your blog! I remember weaning my now ten year old when he was 2. I told him he could nurse until I sang the ABC song! Ahhhh I miss those days!
I forgot to leave my name above.. I don't think I can edit it..anyway I am linkmama! I love all the pics on your blog!
I'm sure that little aside about the adult bookstores names was brought on by the myriad of
'adult entertainment' options one passes on the interstate. But out of curiosity, what name would YOU suggest? LOL!
My heart still goes out to little Gideon. I'm sure he'll get past this period soon, though.
you still alive, or did the little guy get the best of you? HUGS!
