Independence Day Celebration

Here are the pics from Vogel State Park 4th of July celebration. We had a lot of fun.

First, we ate our picnic lunch that we had brought with us. We ate it near the lake on a nice thick sleeping bag.

The boys signaled the end of lunch. :)

After lunch I headed out here.

And saw views like this:

Michael and the boys headed over to the lake to go swimming.

They had a good time as well.

Hey boys! Let's go over to the games.

Getting ready for their first ever 3 legged race.

Which they won by the way. They each got a ticket good for either a free round of golf or a free 1/2 hour paddle boat ride.

Sack race!! They didn't win this one. :)

Michael didn't win in his heat either

but he was awfully fun to watch. heehee

I didn't get a pic of the water balloon toss (which we didn't enter because they ran out of balloons) or the egg toss. Also missed the shoe toss which our kids took first and second in thus winning another 2 tickets for our family. :)

Dizzy Izzy bat race.

They had slow girls on their team so they didn't win this one either.

The watermelon eating "contest" didn't happen but they gave free watermelon out to anyone who wanted one. Yeah!

Watching the races. They did each race in catagories: 4 and under, 5-6 yrs, 7-8 yrs, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-17 yrs, adults, senior citizens. So there was a lot of sitting around.

But that was fun too.

We go to hang out together.

and take silly photos

Is this not the CUTEST picture?!!

A little girl offered our boys some popsicles. This pic was particuarly hilarious.

The greased pole climb was the last event. Since they greased it with lotion and not lard we let the boys enter. They had a GREAT time.

We left before they declared the winner.

We had a really nice day. Michael and I did the 3 legged race but, other than that, I didn't do anything. Still recovering slowly from this virus. I did take another paddle boat ride around the lake so the kids could use their tickets.

Gotta go. Three little boys are calling. :)
Blessings!- Angela :)

looks like you guys had a ball!

and to think...that green is in GA, and the lake doesn't look low. I think I need to drive over there next week to get a green/water fix.
